What is ALES and can it be found in your products?

Ammonium laureth sulphate (ALES) is used as a cleansing agent that removes oil and dirt from hair and skin without drying it out. Some of our products (shampoo, body wash and hand wash) contain ALES. We do not use sodium laureth sulphate (SLES), or sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). All of the ALES that we use at Faith In Nature is derived from sustainable palm oil.
ALES is considered to be a safe and effective cleansing agent and is biodegradable. Virtually 100% of this base is immediately removed from the skin or hair by the simple act of rinsing with water.
